The origin of the names of our cat trees and where did the name Cotec come from?

We are probably the first company to come up with the idea of naming cat scratchers mainly after endangered species of wild cats. The brand name - Cotec - seems a bit less complicated.

✅ Every company must have a name. Why did we choose Cotec?

Our brand was created for cats and their owners. Our first conversations were not about coming up with ideas for products, but about creating a conception of unique and exceptional furniture for cats. Following this path, we wanted the name of our brand to refer to our main recipients - cats - in an interesting, appealing way. „Kotek” means kitten in polish language. Kotek is our little furry friend, a pet that makes our home unique and cozy, a place you want to come back to. We have replaced the letter K in „Kotek” with C, because of its cozy shape comparable to our products. Cotec is a brand of unique products,
just as the interaction with our pupils is unique for all of us.

✅ Unique products require distinctive nomenclature.

Each of us has, to a greater or lesser extent, awareness of the existence of threatened and endangered species, but it seems to us that any possibility of reminding about this fact is worth using.

We love cats, and we don't just mean "Felis catus" or domestic cat. We find the cat family fascinating, both domesticated and "wild". So, is there a better way to name our cat trees than with the names
of some amazing cats that are on the brink of extinction? We came up with this idea even before
the unveiling of our first products. This is how below-mentioned scratchers were created, such as:

• KodKod, that is the Chilean Ocelot (Leopardus guigna) - endangered.
• Lynx or the Iberian lynx (Lynx pardinus) - threatened with extinction.
• Nebu or the foggy panther (Neofelis nebulosa) - endangered.
• Andean or Andean Ocelot (Leopardus jacobitus) - threatened with extinction.
